HOW TO PRIME     Tammy Taylor

 Not Priming correctly can cause lifting

  • Primer needs to be applied 2 times, sometimes even 3 times, before the acrylic is applied. 

  • (Dry) LET DRY - Apply the 1st coat of Tammy Taylor "Primer" and LET DRY.  The first coat of Tammy Taylor "Primer" will help dry out the oils and help kill germs on the fingernails & the toenails.

  • (Wet) LEAVE WET - The 2nd coat of Tammy Taylor "Primer" needs to be applied, one nail at a time, just before applying the acrylic (this will make sure the primer is wet when acrylic is applied).

  • The (WET)Tammy Taylor "Primer" and (WET) T.T. "Acrylic" will blend together causing a chemical reaction, which pulls the acrylic product into the etched surface of the natural fingernail, which results in a superior bond.

  • If the 2nd coat of Tammy Taylor "Primer" dries before applying T.T. Acrylic, use a 3rd coat of Primer. 

  • Always use a T.T. Primer Holder.  Tammy Taylor "Primer" is a methacrylic acid.  A 1/2oz. bottle will prime 1,000 nails.  Use sparingly.

  •  Always wipe off primer brush on a T.T. Towelette, before placing primer brush back into primer bottle, to help eliminate contamination.

Tammy Taylor Non-Lifting PrimerDo NOT use a pre-prime, nail prep or any alcohol based cleanser on the natural fingernail after etching, or before priming.  Most pre-primes, nail preps and cleansers contain some type of alcohol.  Any form of alcohol stops the primer from working properly with the acrylic.  If the Pterygium Stone, Nail Files, Cuticle pusher or Nippers are used wet directly from a disinfectant, then do not use disinfectant with alcohol in it.  Use the T.T. First Choice Disinfectant Concentrate, (First Choice will not cause lifting) diluted, as instructed.  T.T. First Choice does not contain any alcohol.  If an alcohol-based disinfectant is used, let the Pterygium Stone, Nail files, Cuticle pusher or Nippers dry before using.
